Thanksgiving 2011

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration, as usual.  Shawna and Doogle joined us from Las Vegas and Gpa Kelly made the trip from San Marcos.  We started the day with a hike @ Daley Ranch, then went home to make dinner.  Gma outdid herself cooking and everyone chipped in, including Costco, making pies. Cayden even made a pie (it was very good) and insisted we vote on the best one. He scurried from the dinner table to make ballots, insisting that the Costco pumpkin pie was not eligible.

CJ has been talking all week about eating a turkey leg - he got one!

Guess who won????

All-in-all it was a terrific day.  One thing everyone forgot is the tradition involving the cans of whipped cream.  Oh well.  Everyone is out getting a jump on shopping and I'm home alone.  Kinda nice, actually!

  1. WE had plenty of whipped cream can sucking going on here to make up for your lack. But I would suggest a make-up tradition on Christmas Day... heck, it is all the holiday season, right. We took a walk on Thanksgiving morning, too. Our pies weren't up to snuff this year.. or at least the crusts... the insides were acceptable. I vote for that chocolatey looking pie? Who made that one? Oh, I will go back and look at the picture with the contestants for the pie contest and then I will know who made the chocolatey looking one. Good post and I just love Thanksgiving. Yummy!!! Love, Gail

  2. So yes... Cayden's pie was the chocolatey looking one. I would have voted for his, too. What did it taste like? Was it as good as it looked. I just love chocolate. Love, Gail
